I've been on a bit of a bird kick this past week, artistically speaking. I picked up two unpainted wooden birds at Michaels Crafts, seeing lots of potential. So I had a blast painting and decorating them in unconventional and colorful ways. Here are the pix I took of them, and a couple of pix of my terrier Mick who wanted to see why I was paying attention to my inanimate objects, instead of him. Haha, he is so bossy, but I adore him. I'm nervous for him getting his cataract surgery on Wednesday, but want him to see so badly. Thank you Elizabeth for assuring my that your dog had a successful outcome, that gives me great hope.
Although I haven't yet thought of a name for these tweeters, I am certainly open to suggestions.
Next up is my first attempt at jewelry-making. I've been wrapping wire around beads to make earrings and bird's nest and egg necklaces. Here are some of the results, which I'm delighted about.
Sorry for the blurry nature of some of the pix. Maybe I will get a new camera for my birthday in March (hint, hint hubby, if you read this, which you probably won't haha).
That's it for now. I've loved my week off work, as I filled it with books, art, running, long walks, lattes, and house organizing. I also managed to see all 3 of my kids who live away at their colleges. Back to teaching tomorrow. Hope everyone has a lovely week
Hugs,

I love your colorful, whimsical, fun birds (and I like the touch of DOG)!
Also...bird's nest jewelry= <3
Oh they are so cute!!! I love the purple bird but the yellow bird is great too! He has such a cute hat. I think the purple bird could be called Lady Plumberry and the yellow bird could be Tweet, her butler. your doggie is so cute,he reminds me of my doggie, she is also a terrier.I'm sure he will be fine! Our dog had poisoning and she had to be in hospital for about 4 days, but she is completely fine now.
Love how you decorated the birds and the birdnest jewelery is lovely too.
Your dog is so very cute! I hope he is alright and recovering from the surgery very well.
Hugs
Maria
